There are several alternatives for the future of vision correction. Today new, foldable and injectable lens implants (IOLs) are being tested. There are also self-adjusting or adjustable glasses in development.

Even now phakic lens implants, multifocal lenses and wavefront designed lenses are the fastest growing area of refractive surgery as laser eye surgeons realise the limits of laser eye surgery  and  how much better the quality of vision can be with a lens implant.

In the future (10-15 yrs) we expect to use smart lenses which adapt to each individual and that can be modified without surgery.

I was always long sighted and had reached a stage where I needed glasses for both reading and distance. Now the distance is clear and although I still wear a thin pair for reading it's much easier to see up close when I'm putting on my make up. The CK  was quick, easy and painless and it kept on improving for distance over the following weeks.
